How clearance works
Step 1: Send your documents
Bill of lading or airway bill, commercial invoice, packing list and any permits for your goods. We tell you straight away if anything is missing.
Step 2: We lodge your entry
We classify your goods, compute duties and taxes, and lodge the customs entry with KRA.
Step 3: You pay duties
You receive a clear breakdown of duty, taxes and our charges before paying.
Step 4: Release from port or CFS
We follow up verification and release with KPA, the shipping line and the CFS.
Step 5: Delivery
We truck the cargo to your premises or on to its transit destination, with proof of delivery.

Questions importers ask
What documents do I need to clear a container in Mombasa?
Usually the original or telex-released bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, and any permits or certificates your goods need (for example, from KEBS or KEPHIS). Send what you have and we'll confirm what's missing.
How long does customs clearance take?
It depends on the cargo, the documents and whether the consignment is selected for verification. Once documents are complete, we give you an estimate for your specific shipment.
Do you clear imported cars?
Yes. We clear motor vehicles through CFS, including duty computation and release.
Can you move my cargo to Uganda, Rwanda or South Sudan?
Yes. We handle transit documentation and road transport from Mombasa to Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and DR Congo.
